The largest coaster in Cuba can be found in the largest park in Cuba, Parque Lenin located south of Havana. The park had been open since 2006 so quite a young park compared to Jalisco.
We arrived at the park and were fortunate to be parked close to the smaller coaster. We had to run a gauntlet of people keen to have us ride their horses (not my thing) before we could get into the park properly.
Wacky Worm #9 was Chinese made and too busy when we first arrived. We chose to go to the other coaster instead.
and that other coaster is a large Chinese made corkscrew ride. Having survived one of these already on day 1 of the Mexico leg we were well prepared for this ride. What we weren't prepared for was it being down, and it looked to have been down for some time.
So we consoled ourselves by walking around and taking photos.
Last year the coaster-count ride added these to its count pages in which case this park has 8 coasters...well 6 as 2 were missing. I don't personally count these. Perhaps I should.
The weird waltzer ride was spinning quite wildly. It took several attempts to get a photo of the car and it is still pretty rubbish.
Old school phones. There is mobile reception here but it's not the best, and you can forget about wifi. Even Tal couldn't find any and he finds wifi better than Thomas and I find coasters.
A bizarre building that served no purpose other than to offer some shade.
We didn't want to explore the whole park as it was vast. I think Thomas and I got into the little coaster queue, which hadn't gotten any shorter whilst we were away, whilst Tal did the exploring (he likes to get his photos).
The locals had come prepared for the hot weather. Us Europeans didn't. Luckily there was a mum up in the front who had 3 kids who needed to be accompanied by adults and Thomas and I were pulled forward to save the day.
There's nothing to add as we're almost into double figures with these things. Tal soon caught us up and got his ride whilst Thomas fended off the horse riding salesmen. Soon after we were back in the car heading onto the final park for the day.
