Table Mountain

Having arrived at Cape Town we took a taxi to Table Mountain figuring we'd want to get here early before the crowds built up.

Again, a place I'd been to before and not a place that had changed too much since that trip. A revolving cable car takes you to the top. I do like how people rush in for what they think is the best view only to find themselves being moved from it as the car ascends.

Some views from the top. The weather was much better on this occasion and there was no low lying cloud in the way.

The fauna is weird up here and there are lots of signs saying watch out for the wildlife but we never saw any. I love the idea of a rogue lion being left alone on the top to keep us alert.

The view is amazing!!!
(not as good as his)

Joking aside the mountain used to have lions but they've all gone now. Apparently there are hyenas and babboons...saw neither. Perhaps they hide out in the gift shop, which I avoided.

Just a perfect location for lots of panoramic photos, and having trained Tal in how to use this on his iPhone we ended up spending quite a bit of time here; no bad thing.

Looks like some of the more spiritual tourists had created little rock piles.

In 2012 Table Mountain was recognised as one of the new Seven Wonders of Nature.
The list is as follows:

The Amazon Rainforest and River
Jeju Island
Halong Bay
Iguazu Falls
Puerto Pricesa Subterranean River National Park
Komod Island
Table Mountain

I've been to one of those, so some work to do :)

Not much to say only that the place is stunning.

Down there, a bit of Cape Town where we'd be ending up later on.

But first, more parks!
