Parque Miguel Hidalgo

A nice mural on the way to the next park. I do like that Central America and from what I've seen of South America appreciate this. In the UK our art is deemed anti-social even if it's well done and is often removed.

Which leads to silly things like this happening.

Anyway I digress. Located in the city is a small municipal park named after Miguel Hidalgo, a Catholic priest who was one of the leaders of the Mexican War of Independence.

Rides beside a lake in a park seemed to a pattern in Mexico and there was no difference here.

The coaster was themed after a well known TV cartoon character which in Mexico they call "Bob Espunja", at least that the operator told us it was. We confirmed the spelling with another similar ride later in the trip.

After a successful career in the 70s Herbie had retired to a warmer and safer climate, and now spends his days on a merry-go-round in the park.

The rides were clearly former travelling rides that have set up camp here permanently. We believe the amusement rides have been around for 10 years.

There's a zoo close to the rides with a small selection of animals that could be in better conditions to be honest. Here a chicken takes out his frustrations by pecking the arse of a placid deer.

Here's a dead chicken. This is what happens if you peck the deer too hard.

A couple of hawks in a cage that isn't big enough for them to really take flight properly. Sad!

A lone wolf doing the parading back and forth thing.

There were lots of rabbits, perhaps there weren't so many when they first arrived.

That was a quick whistle stop tour of Miguel Hidalgo park and we didn't do much more than this to be honest. It was always going to be a quick stop before heading back to the fair!
