Parque Xochipilli

The next location was a another of my new finds. Located in the town of Celaya west of Queretaro is Parque Xochipilli, with a similar set up to Bosque de Aragon featuring a small amusement park beside a lake within a larger park.

The lake is clearly man made and you can hopefully make out the rides on the western edge. We were checking for the small loop, which looked like it could be a coaster.

I'm definitely sure we have the right place.

There was a small selection of rides with none of them operating, all clearly aimed at the younger visitors.

Included in the mix was the rollercoaster, Malcolm scores again! Whilst we were photographing an operator came out from a nearby truck and had no problem taking our pesos, firing up the generator nearby that judging by the cables powered all the rides, and letting us ride.

Another reason to celebrate!

A quick chat with the operator in broken Spanish revealed that the ride was called Gusanito, a common name for kids coasters out here it would seem.

We had our goes, kindly thanked the operator who was set to fire up one of the other rides for some kids who had seen us riding and who had run over to enjoy themselves too.

A shot of the rather nice lake on the way out, and that was Xochilipli Parque. We decided to grab a quick bite from the KFC across the road. Healthy cuisine!

The KFC was promoting this delightful looking meal, which we were a bit hesitant to try. You wouldn't want to be on the road if that got its revenge later. We did agree to try one later on in the holiday, ironically when we did they'd sold out. Boo!
