Parque Espana

Saying goodbye to Cancun we flew north to the city of Monterey, a place that has a terrible reputation for gang trouble. We were only going to stay here for the before heading back to Mexico but had a few parks and a park to visit before we left. Airport security was pretty tight as I recall and we were stopped shortly after getting off the plane and asked some questions around our reasons for travelling to Monterey. It's not like we were hired hitmen coming in to do a job or something.

Having cleared that we got to the hotel and crashed for the night. The next morning we had a lie in and then Thomas organised a driver for the day with the hotel. The first park for us to visit was one that Thomas wanted to check out, Parque Espana.

A nice mural along the way.

Located close to the bigger Sesame Park, Parque Espana is similar to Villa Alegria in that it's home to a showman's collection of rides.

The selection was pretty good but there weren't any coasters.

We had a chat with the owner who confirmed that he didn't have any rollercoasters
"tiene montana rusa" is the way to ask. We also asked if there were any other coasters in the city but he knew only of the two parks that we'd be visiting next.

Another Droopy kebab.

The horse looked well done.

Tom has just the right amount on his scared in his face to make the carousel disturbing. Even Woody looks concerned.

We left the park to head to the next one, which we knew did have a coaster. Along the way I almost caught this nice Abbey Road piece.
